 The first time she appeared on TV was as a guest actor on the 2002 episode of Angel. Director Joss Whedon saw her and chose her to play River Tam on his short-lived TV series Firefly. She also starred in the role of the sequel Serenity. Glau played Cameron Phillips, a Terminator-infiltration unit sent back to Skynet to defend John Connor (and Sarah Connor). The seventh episode of the series, "The Demon Hand" included a number of scenes that featured Glau, in character as Cameron was seen dancing ballet. In the second season's episode "Allison From Palmdale" (season 2), Glau played Allison Young, Cameron's human doppelganger.
