April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player from the United States she is part of the elite number of women who won medals in many Olympics. Her achievements were acknowledged with her selection as the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions' National Players of the Year. In addition, she was awarded the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do as of the year 2017. In reality, Ross was already an established player in the beach volleyball scene before Klineman and Ross joined forces. Between 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. They were beaten out for the gold by the storied team consisting of Misty June-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. The pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. In high school and the many years before hitting the sand as a pro Ross made her debut for the Trojans at USC while university. Ross's time in the Trojans was stellar. The Trojans were an All-American as well as Pac-10 freshman of the year in the year 2000. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. Her sophomore season was the year she was devastated by a personal loss, yet was successful in being named an All-American. Through her final two years playing for the Trojans the team, she played a key role in helping succeed in winning consecutive championships. Individually Ross established her status as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the most outstanding female athlete in the nation. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. She still cherishes her late parent. Margie is an inspiration at the beach, and throughout her life.
