Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host as well as the proprietor of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England at age sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. She was the first person non-UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. The success of her conservative journalist was further consolidated when she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided an honest assessment of the current state of the nation's politics. Her fame has led to the attraction of many well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she became an independent candidate for the California recall vote to replace Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on the list. In the same year Guardian included her in the 100 most influential media on their list. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos, a management and journalism consultant. Although she had a close relationship with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the rest of her life. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. At the age of 16, she moved over into England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the college debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. Her professional career as an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
