Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is one of football scholarships, family involvement and community involvement. First family he is the youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. They grew up on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two football. He is among the three brothers that were players for Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. For three seasons as a starter Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and designated a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during college. Following college, he relocated to Tampa and played nine seasons with Tampa's Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. After that, he began his professional career. The first position he held was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 The Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as one of the 10 of the most notable young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds during his time playing college football. In 1975, he was on the team. team. He joined his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented the Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
